In only his second season at Washington Academy, Coach
Kenrick Liburd is continuing the Raiders winning
tradition. In his first season with the team, Liburd led
them to a 13–6 finish (Good enough for a 3rd Place
seeding in Class C East Tournament) and a trip to the
Eastern Maine Class C Semi-final (State quarter final).
Prior to Liburd being at WA, he was the head coach at
Narraguagus High School for the 2005/2006 season.
Before Narraguagus, Coach Liburd began his coaching
career in the 2003/2004 season where he served as
assistant coach at University of Maine at Machias (UMM),
under present UTPB Head Coach Randy Lee. Liburd worked
as assistant coach for 2 years to both the men's and
women's teams. The teams achievements included:
UMM advancing to the NAIA DII National Tournament (1st
time in 13 years, and only the 2nd time in the
University's history)
Sunrise Conference Champions (1st time ever)
Sunrise Conference Regular Season Champions (two years
in a row)
Most Wins by Men's Basketball Team in the State of Maine
(23)
Most Wins at UMM since 1990-1991 season
While at UMM, Coach Liburd created an AAU team for boys
located in Eastern Maine, acting as both Head Coach and
Director. In the teams first year they finished 8th in
the state of Maine. In the second year the program
expanded by adding one more boys program and one more
girls program. The older boy’s squad established
themselves as a recognized state contender by finishing
6th at the state tournament. This coming AAU season,
Liburd will be coaching a new girls Basketball AAU team
in Maine – MBR Select.
Liburd played basketball for UMM after arriving in the
USA from his native England. In England, he played for
Newham Youngbloods, East London Royals, East London
Leopards and Colchester United. Liburd was also a member
of the England Youth Team.
Coach Liburd has Directed Basketball Camps in USA for
both Girl's and Boy's. He has also worked at camps in
the USA and the UK.

his fiancée Tina Ogborn.
